More Information

Join us for a 90-minute presentation on plant-based lifestyle for personal and planetary health, and athletic performance; followed by a 60-minute functional movement and core strength session suitable for all abilities.
Learn why the health benefits of a wholefood plant-based lifestyle can be immensely beneficial to your athletic ambitions when it comes to performance, recovery, and longevity in the sport. Having recently completed a 100-mile ultramarathon, Ben will share his top nutrition tips for maximising an athlete’s performance and health, as well as some key reasons why our environment is an even bigger reason to go plant-based.
Using science-backed evidence, this workshop takes an easy-to-understand approach to why a wholefood plant-based diet is ideal, busts common myths and misunderstandings, and provides ways to put it into practice. This not only applies to athletes but to anyone with an interest in living a healthier and more meaningful lifestyle.
The movement class will allow you to explore and enhance key movement principles such as postural awareness, breath/body connection, spinal mobility, core strengthening and lower limb stability. You can expect to work hard in a different way than you might be used to through the use of use floor-based and bodyweight exercises. By combining stabilising exercises, dynamic stretching and targets to our postural and endurance muscles, this class will help you improve your personal fitness and athletic performance.
Ben Eitelberg is an environmentalist, plant-powered athlete, accredited endurance sports coach with a vegan nutritionist diploma, and a passionate proponent for a wholefood plant-based diet. He has been operating his endurance sports coaching business Fitness Locker for over 11 years whilst also being a New Zealand age-group representative at triathlon, completing multiple ultramarathons and other endurance events on a completely wholefood plant-based approach. Ben is an avid advocate for a wholefood plant-based lifestyle, not only as a means for athletes to improve their performance and recovery but for health reasons in general. In addition, he also the co-founder of The Lentil Intervention, an Australian and New Zealand educational and advocacy platform aiming to raise awareness and inspire action for personal and planetary health; and co-hosts the popular The Lentil Intervention podcast.
Fiona Dowling is a Physiotherapist, Pilates Teacher and Endurance Athlete, so movement is an integral part of her day-to-day life. Given her background, it should be no surprise that promoting and facilitating movement in others is a passion of hers. Fiona’s experience as a Physio and Pilates teacher combined with her personal experience competing in Multisport races and adventuring in the outdoors has provided her with a great range of experiences on how the body moves and functions. She enjoys using movement to help her explore, learn and grow. Fiona values the importance that nutrition has on the health and happiness of our body and in recent years has moved toward a plant-based diet to help her maintain a healthy body primed for the movement she demands of it

Both Ben and Fiona are looking forward to sharing their personal journeys and insights through this interactive workshop.
